The investigations of Jane Sparks and Fran Morris are heading to an international stage. The Maple Staple will display Xiomara Rodriguez’s The Jane Sparks Trilogy at the 78th Frankfurt Book Fair, October 7–11, 2026, at Messe Frankfurt, Hall 5.1, Stand D86.

Across three connected mysteries, twin sisters Jane and Fran pursue cases that test their investigative skills and draw their personal lives into the story. Each installment opens a different criminal world while continuing the sisters’ evolving journey.

The trilogy begins with How Could It Be?, where a murder investigation and a smuggling operation unfold alongside a family mystery. Jane and Fran must follow the evidence while confronting questions about their own past.

In And the Story Continues, the sisters enter the world of horse racing, investigating criminal activity beneath the sport’s competitive surface.

The third installment, A New Beginning Maybe?, leads them into a case involving stolen art and antiquities. As the investigation develops, changes in their personal and professional lives take the sisters toward different paths.

Together, the books offer readers an ongoing story of investigation, family, and change, with a new case at the heart of each installment.

Meet the author behind the investigations

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Xiomara Rodriguez served for 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, including 10 years as a Special Agent with the Coast Guard Investigative Service. She was the first Hispanic woman to serve as a CGIS Special Agent.

Her professional background informs her interest in investigative storytelling. A longtime mystery reader, she grew up enjoying Nancy Drew and later read authors including Patricia Cornwell and Sidney Sheldon. Her early writing included short stories and poetry published in college and literary magazines.
